'The Dance' is inspired by rhododendrons photographed through textured glass on a drizzly day at Pukeiti Gardens. Rain, light, and glass soften the scene, blurring forms and creating a sense of movement, as if the garden is gently dancing behind the surface.
Painted onsite at Pukeiti on sunny days, the work holds onto the memory of that shifting, rain-soaked moment. It explores the space between seeing and feeling, capturing nature not as something still, but as something alive, fluid, and constantly in motion.
